This is a sushi restaurant that I would highly recommend. It's chef was formerly a chef at other well-known and well respected sushi bars, and he has a creative and delicious menu that he's put together. The fish is fresh, the service is very good. The room itself is just OK and some of the items on the menu are typical California type items, not as traditional as one might like. But overall it is a really good sushi restaurant.
We spent a great evening at Shiki, under the attentive service of the staff. We dined outside, under the heated terrace. We chose the "chef special" which consisted of two plates of two entrees and 2 plates sashimi and sushi for $60 per person. The restaurant closed even later to let us fully enjoy our evening. Walking distance to all the great boutique of Rodeo Drive, you dine in style without loosing your wallet. A place to discover for great Japanese!
A very good, rather new sushi restaurant from a chef previously at Asanebo and Matsuhitsa. Its fish is high quality, the wagyu is excellent and they have a great selection of sake and japanese whiskey. Really good.
I'm a LA local, so I tend to be very spoiled when it comes to Japanese restaurants - we've got loads of them right here in the LA Basin. Was taken on a no-expense spared dinner to Shiki, conveniently located right in the middle of Beverly Hills shopping area. What followed was unbelievably great omakase in a very elegant setting. We had the Momiji and it was worth it. Accompanied by a great bottle of Ika na Onna sake, we were served things like tiny snapper roulades with black truffle, skate wing, incredible maguro - the dishes kept coming but we never felt overstuffed. Beautiful desserts. Perfection for those who worship classical Japanese cuisine with the most sublime quality of fish. The chef is a Matsuhisa alum and he has created a culinary paradise.
