We had Tabouleh and Falafel for starters and Kabab Halabi and Kofta Yoghurtie for main course and all the items were very good . Kofta Yoghurtie was really sumptuous. The service was good and so is the ambiance. Overall it was good value for money and tasty food.
You know it's a good middle-eatsren restaurant when most of the clientele are talking in Arabic. Nice decor, lively ambience, attentive staff. Prices are about the same as the nearby take-aways but you get the sit-down restaurant experience. Anything from the grill is recommended. Moroccan mint tea yummy. Beware very popular so may have to queue at busy times. Alcohol-free and close to Shepherd's Bush mosque a plus for Muslim guests.
This is probably my favourite restaurant in London. It is truly top notch - the service, atmosphere, FOOD... and faultless everytime. For SIX meze starters, four drinks and three main courses it was only £56. When you compare the freshness, quality and prices charged with other Levant style restaurants in central London, Ayam Zaman is truly in another league. We no longer live in Shepherd's Bush but come back here simply to visit this restaurant. It's just that good.
