Walked past here more times than I can remember and finally decided to come in and have a pint. What I like is that it's not full of tourists (no offence meant to tourists!) it's just nice to find a 'local' in central London that's 2 mins from my front door. Staff are polite, other punters seem nice and the pint was spot on.
Lunch and a few drinks here today with friends. This is a small pokey Lott place in the back streets of Paddington. It's a bit grubby and basic but the service was friendly. We had some baguettes with drinks and it was ok. Food is cheap.
This review is for the small local off of Praed street, not the downtown fancy pants place! I assure you the previous reviewer did not hold her wedding in this pub. My mum is disabled but the patrons helped her to climb the small step to get in. Friendly locals this is not really a tourist pub. Seemed to mostly be local residents in the place who all knew one another. Food, very good if it's not just a bit surprising to see them load your veggies out of a tray in the fridge right by the bar. This is not haute cusine, yet it is very very good. The ale pie I had was excellent and incredibly filling Mum had a sandwich that she thought was an excellent value on nice homemade bread. Great selection of ciders and beers. Did not find the staff all that friendly but I was not there to make friends. Overall a decent little place with good food. I would go back, kind of reminds me of home.
