Have been here for a few times. Cheap Chinese lunch set, take away and dinner. The boss, Sue, is very friendly and always welcomes you. The food is proper Hong Kong style but sometimes a bit salty. My girlfriend and her colleagues often have lunch here. Always feel at home especially when talking to Sue in Cantonese! Highly recommended!
New Bowl is a small restaurant also doing takeaway. Most of the dishes from the sit in menu are available on takeaway except the "sizzling" ones. We ordered a selection of starters including grilled dumplings, fried squid and spring rolls. All were very nice. The squid was liked by all. For main course, 3 of is had sweet and sour chicken. It took a while to choose which one as there are 3 types on the menu. The chicken was very crispy but not hard and tasted very nice. I had a sizzling lamb with hot black bean sauce with a special Thai rice. The rice was great with quite a bit of tiny slices of chilli to warm your mouth. The lamb was nice too with sauce, vegetables... Upon finishing, we were given fortune cookies and after eights. The bill was very reasonable, another reason to come back if we return to the area.
Some of you reading may think the title is far fetched, but this is undoubtedly the best Chinese restaurant I've experienced on earth. You must try it if you're around. Suzie and the team continue to keep her fathers traditions. Hands down beats china town in Chicago, London, San Francisco, New York. I've been three times, it's consistently amazing. I'm torn writing these experiences, as I want other people to know but also want to keep this place special. Flavourful, chewy when it needs to be chewy, crispy when it needs to be, moist. Typically difficult to nail dishes at other Chinese restaurants, are absolutely nailed here. Unpretentious. Affordable. Humble surroundings. Friendly. Family run. Clean. Fresh food. Caring. Flavourful. Fast. Crispy. Spicy. Delicious. Moreish. I look forward to making my way through the entire menu.
