Nazmi is the waiter we met at the Bistro during our visit to Vatican on June 9th. He is a nice person, gave us very detailed introduction on the food and refilled our bread several times before what we ordered came. Two thumbs up!
After a busy lecture at the Vatican Museum, several colleagues and I had lunch at this small, clean and friendly bistro. Luma had at least a dozen daily specials for first and second courses, and the pasta is fresh and truly cooked al dente. It is packed after 13.00, and seats are difficult to come by both inside and out, but the spaghetti (more like bucatini) pomodoro con formaggio is ridiculous with flavour for so basic a dish and if you are a connoisseur of pannacotta (as I fancy myself), then this is definitely top three ever!
Searching for somewhere to grab a bite after a visit to the Vatican and avoiding the places with garish food photographs outside and overbearing waiters beckoning you in, just a couple of streets back we discovered this little gem. Simple and basic, but clean, friendly and welcoming. A small menu ( always the best!) of tasty freshly made food (including the pasta). We enjoyed therelaxed comfortable atmosphere of tourists and locals -always a good sign.
