This is the third time in the last 4 years we had several meals at this place. It doesn't look like much, situated on a side street of Via Carlo Alberto leading from the Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II to the famous Santa Maria Maggiore church, the people are very friendly and helpful, although I think they only speak Italian and mandarin Chinese (also Wenzhou dialect, since they are from Wenzhou north of Shanghai in Zhejiang Province). We didn't order by the menu, but went to the cooled glass case near the aquarium (with live lobsters) at the end of the room and asked the boss lady what was good that day, and how they would prepare it. I haven't been disappointed, although always ended up ordering more than I planned to. Dishes are cheap, we had 5 authentic and delicious dishes with plain white rice including tea and a big bottle of Qingdao beer for just € 45 - € 55,- (US$ 58 - US$ 72), very cheap for Rome standards, and the food was delicious. They don't expect a tip since service like elsewhere in Europe is included. The lady told us she owned the restaurant for the last 8 years. Will certainly come again, the food is very good, and because of our lactose intolerance we often have problems dining at European restaurants.
