I struggle to see where the below reviews have actually eaten?! I will start by stating why I have given 2 stars and not 1. The only reason I have awarded an extra star is for the tiramisu, it was good. That is literally it, €3 worth of food. The rest I may as well have sprinkled down the drain. The worst part is the chap who seems to run the place, not only does he throw the food at you he has a tendency to pick up a guitar and sing, badly. I'm also sure his real name is Gordan or Donald, and he is really from Scotland. Back to the food. Don't expect much. To start we shared an antipasti. Gordan was irritated that we shared it. The cheese was at best Tesco value and I have actually had better in at a buffet restraint in the uk. I went for pasta after this. Bad choice. I am actually shocked that I was served dried, shop bought pasta, in central Rome.....if it wasn't for the €3 tiramisu I may actually of lost my mind. Also, you may think that the wine is reasonable. It is for Rome, but is as poor as most individuals the day before pay day!
We had lunch at this restaurant, I had grilled sea bass and my boyfriend had the best carbonara ever! We travel a lot around Europe and are a little picky. This place dosent look that nice but the house wine and food was really good at a decent price.
Nothing seems to have changed from when we first ate there in September 2011 and recently just before Easter. Valentino is such a friendly character and makes everyone feel welcome, the food is great and good value - locals and other Italian tourists of all ages were eating there on both occasions. And when he is not so busy or in the mood, he will get his guitar out!
