Of all the glassed-in sidewalk cafes, the Alex Cafe was my favorite. So good the first time, we returned on our last evening. The waiters were attentive but not obtrusive, all the dishes we had were excellent, and even the 'not so expensive' wines were very good. It is close to Hotel Bernini and definitely worth a visit - or two!
We visited this restaurant after reading the reviews on trip advisor. My wife is coeliac and lactose & soya intolerant. The waiter was very obliging, pointing out the meals that my wife could eat. The first visit, we had soup to start with followed by fettuccine. The second visit my wife had soup and fettuccine again because she enjoyed it so much, I had soup followed by lasagne and a salad which was so big we shared it between us. All told an enjoyable meal made better for me knowing that my wife could eat safely as well. An added bonus was that you eat in a glass conservatory on the pavement and people watch while you eat. If I return to Rome I would have no hesitation in eating there again.
