Our first night in Rome and we had earlier walked past this Restaurant. Menu looked good so we decided to try it. We only stayed a minute or so away. What a decision we made!!! The staff make this restaurant what it is. They are so friendly and welcoming. We sat outside on a pleasant terrace, great, if like me, you like people watching. Ordering was simple and easy. Staff will talk through the menu and suggest dishes too. Menu is extensive with plenty of choice and prices are great too. Food was amazing. Wine was just great. We will be returning before we return to the UK. 3 courses plus Wine for €60. Couldn't complain at all.
This is a great restaurant off the beaten track, It has great classic Italian food, with a fish focus (mind you, much meat available). We had the assorted sausage/cheese platter for an appetizer, which was very tasty. We had two versions of the seafood pasta--mine with clams and mussels in a lemon-butter sauce, my husband's with assorted seafood with a spicy tomato sauce (nice and spicy!). The wine was very good and affordable, We would go back!
I had dinner here on the terrace. One seated, the waitress welcomed us with free prosecco. I shared my fried baby octopuses antipasti (moscardini fritti), which was a big platter with lots of octopuses, pretty big for two people. I had gnocchi with mixed seafood (gnocchi ai frutti di mare) as the main course: a little disappointed with the gnocchi, but I think we just didn't have the same conception of gnocchi. At least, I was happy with the seafood... and again, there was so much food. In addition, we got a bread basket (counted in the service charge), but this basket was full of delicious bread, especially the crispy ones, so worth paying. I ordered a trio of panna cotta for desserts. They were nice but I am a bit disappointed with the presentation: the vertical glasses make it hard to spoon in. Finally! After finishing the desserts, the waiter brought us a plate of sweet cookies (free again)! Although I didn't order the right dishes, I really enjoyed dining here. Service was excellent: welcome prosecco, "goodbye" desserts, smiling staff especially the big waiter who was very joyful. It was also a very good value... For example, you can get a whole bottle of coke for €4 (usually the price for a glass). Last funny thing: don't order "chips" if you want French fries! Otherwise, you're going to get crisps (chips as a snack)!
The service is secondto none. The waiter was excellent. Arrived to a welcome drink. The pizza was delicious. I was able to choose the topping. Great location including undercover seating. There appears from other conversations that the reaturant demands the best quality of dishes arriving to the table. To change anything is absolutely no problem. Nice table settings and very pleasant atmosphere. I would eat here again if I was in the area.
