We looked at the reviews for “Krishnaa’s Veg Restaurant” online and were keen to try this one since it said “Vegetarian” restaurant. We took the tram No. 14, opp the train station and reached the place in about 15-20 mins. We had google map with us and were wondering where it disappeared since all we saw was a pub in that lane. We called on the number provided and a man in thick Irish accent (Deaklyn) said Krishnans has been changed to McGees Irish pub, but still serves Indian food. So we go to the Irish pub and have Indian Jain food! The Irish man (Deaklyn) was quite upset that we couldn’t have their famous masala dosa since we were Jains. The owner, Gopi, was welcoming and offered to prepare some Jain food (Food with certain dietary restrictions) for us. They have fixed buffets, yet they did not hesitate to make Jain food for us. Dishes ordered: We didn’t specifically order for anything, just asked them to prepare 2 curries, and some parathas. He made us some Mix Veg Kurma and Palak Paneer. He insisted us to try some Dosas which was their specialty. Quality and Taste: Fresh!! The parathas were not great(Gopi did mention it to us that it wont be), but we appreciate the fact that he made some for us. The Veg Kurma gravy was extremely smooth and fine, Palak Paneer wasgood and dosas were great! In fact the Dosas were like the ones we get at typical South Indian restaurants in Bombay. The taste and quality were really good! Ambiance: How do you expect a pub to be? Since none of us drink, we had coca cola instead of beer over the football match! Price: Very reasonably priced! For 6-8 Parathas, 2 Curries, 3 Coca cola and 3 Dosas, it was a good deal. Portion size: Great portion size, instead of 3, it would have easily suffice 5 people Service: Jain food usually takes time to be prepared, since it has to be freshly cooked.
