It's a typical bistrot, but a tad more expensive than others in less-touristy neighbourhoods - Champs Élysées pricing ;) Food is decent, service is prompt (mostly). If you're nice to the waiter (who readily speaks English), he's nice. Nothing fancy, good enough for me for a late dinner after a work-day. Other options nearby, but slightly higher pricing... your choice.
My husband and I first discovered this restaurant on our first visit to Paris in 2011. We arrived too early to get into the apartment we had rented and so spent some time in this quaint little restaurant. We went back several times during that trip, and not certainly not just for the convenient location. On this return trip we were again in the same apartment (down the street) and have eaten there several times. The onion soup is the best I've found so far. I asked about the preparation and received good advice to use at home. On this trip I discovered the goat cheese and potato salad - divine. I again inquired about the recipe (especially the dressing) and received a helpful response. The servers are knowledgeable, extremely friendly, and very attentive (even when they are busy).
Myself and 2 friends wanted to experience a brasserie and came across a quaint looking brasserie on a corner in good ol' Pareee, we ordered their acclaimed Entrecôte. All three steaks were so tough we almost lost out teeth biting on what felt like chewing gum. We asked the waiter to remove the plates plus the half-chewed bite and asked to speak to management. The manager appears with an attitude and started shouting (I kid you not) that this is french steak and this is how its served. Perplexed and shocked at the scene she was making about 3 steaks and also refusing to remove our chewing gum from the bill, we left hungry and 60 euros short! Horrible service and food!!! Shame on you french woman! Please go learn some South Africa hospitality!
