Yum Cha @East Imperial,in handy Carlton,has been on our annual agenda for a few years now. Everyone goes home happy. Extensive range of goodies (although it seems you have to reserve your EGG TARTS,even for the first sitting, yes they ran out! Curiously, chickens feet are chopped BEYOND RECOGNITION, easy to share & possibly less confronting?) Tables, with varying aspects, to accommodate different group sizes. A dozen of us twirled the Lazy Susan and managed to hear the conversation easily. Strongly recommend this establishment

Highly recommend, nice family and business dining environment, the freshest food with reasonable price. Signature dishes: Peking duck, Wagyu beef hotpot, Chinese lion's head(meat ball), rainbow trout soup, fried tofu entree, traditional dessert, etc.

Apart from the excellent food and great service what we really love about East Imperial is the quiet sophistication of this elegant restaurant. It is as far from the raucous hustle and bustle of CBD Yum Cha restaurants as you can get. We are at a loss to understand why this family favorite of ours isn't more popular but we're happy to know we can always get a table.
