Itacho Sushi has several outlets, the one at Bugis Junction is pretty good, although you have to be prepared to wait for a table during dinner time, even during weekdays. The sashimi is pretty fresh, and the food was served quite promptly. A good place to have a gathering with friends.
I haven't been to Itacho in many months and had a sudden craving for sushi today. Opted for the Bugis outlet which, shortly after 12, was easy enough to get a table (although when we left around 1 there was a queue of around 10 people outside). Value / quality ratio continues to be good at this place, the stand-outs today were the scallops and the fatty salmon.
This is a restaurant in Bugis Junction Mall on the first level. It is very crowded which shows its popularity. Some of the dishes we had ordered were Shrimp Tempura, Pork curry, Salmon sushi, grilled salmon etc. Each portion is small, so you need to order quite a few if you are real hungry. The food was very good; Tempura and salmon sushi dishes were excellent. Each table had a slip attached to a chair. As you keep ordering, the waitress would come and add it to the slip! The food is very fresh and the staff courteous. If you are not adventurous enough to use chop sticks, you may ask for a fork.
We read the comments in Tripadvisor and we decided to come. Very bad idea. First of all is a CHAIN of restaurants in a mall (Rent in Singapore is very expensive). The chain has more than 20 restaurants in the Southeast Asia (HK, SGP, most of them), but 1 restaurant in Japan, so obviously is not a Japanese chain. Prices are very expensive, total cost of the dinner: 75€ (20 pieces of sushi and 3 beers). The rice dry and the fish portion very small and tasteless. Not recommended at all. The point here is: if you would like to eat sushi, go to other place, if you would like to eat cheap, go to other place. Tell me then any reason to come! Seriously comments for people here don't have criteria. I'm really sorry to say.
