For a break from Peking Duck but not from poultry, the first that comes to mind is A-Cheng Goose. Choosing the preparation style and preferred part (breast or leg) is easy, yet choosing sides is not since they are all pretty good. Usually clam soup, rice blood cake or some veggies will do. Duck blood comes in a generous portion and is also highly recommended. Service is friendly and swift, and the atmosphere rustic. Friday nights can get a bit loud with the drinking after-work crowd. Cold beer to be picked up from the fridge. Picture menu at hand for the illiterate. Cash only, takeaway available.
The roast goose is to die for. It wasn't too oily. The sausage with lots of garlic is also a definit winner. Order these with the rice with goose oil. Also loved the service. Our waiter patiently explained as well as he could what the dishes were and what the restaurant specialties were. Service was quick and efficient and it was priced just right.
