The four of us were hungry, we just checked into our rental apartment a few blocks away and were looking to eat and have a beer. We could only find a few bars and restaurants which were not opening until the five o'clock hour or thereabouts. We saw a gentleman in a litle restaurant named the "Pizzicato" and waved to him, he immediately stepped outside and we explained in English that we were hungry and this was our first hour of experience in Copenhagen. He introduced himself as Antonio and he immediately put together two tables for us, on the sidewalk, just in front of the Pizzicato "italian passion" window. He said he would put something together for us and we said "fine, please do". We were served cold, Peroni beers, some pannini sandwiches and a pizza, just the way we like it, european style, thin crust, light on the sauce and just the proper amount of cheese to accent the bruschetta on top. A delightfully, flaky, pizza that was all taste and not a spread out glob of flavored dough covered with a shot gun of toppings, that some places like to pass off as pizza, whic then sits like an anchor in your stomach, after a few slices. A friendly chance encounter with excellent food and hospitality, which was a wonderful start to our visit in Copenhagen. Antonio and his mother both talked to us and we asked to take pictures with them, they were delightful.
The food was great! It was cheap but very delicious. The waiter was very welcoming and friendly. The atmosphere was very lively and welcoming. Recommended to everyone. The thing I liked best is the pizza. There was not too many cheese and the right amount of tomato sauce. The thing that they could improve on is the amount of spaces they have. I know that they don't have much place, but it is a thing they could work on. We cannot believe that we could eat 4 dishes, 1 cup of wine and 1 cup of coffee for only $340. If you pass by, you should definitely go to this resteraunt!
