So it's my first time with Texas chicken and have to say that neither was it over the top nor was it below the line. Fast food fried chicken, but I felt it was less oily than competition so that was a good feeling. The fries need to improve. However the stand out was the garlic sauce that comes with it which was great.
Had the club sandwich (which is actually a chicken burger) and was pleasantly surprised. The burger itself is quite large and there is a generous amount of cheese and slices of beef bacon. The batter is light, crunchy and the white meat actually looks like white meat (not overly greasy and dehydrated from over-frying). A meal costs about 5-10 dhs more than similar big chain fried chicken joints but is a notch above in quality. The apple pie is also quite good and the employee brought it to us after our meal while it was still warm but they do tend to take a long time to make your order for a fast food restaurant from my experience.
Texas Chicken is US Fast-food chains that have several restaurants in Dubai. The one I went is located in the Dubai mall, 2nd floor on the Food court. Known for its Southern-style chicken, Texas also serves Southern specialties including, coleslaw, and mashed potatoes with gravy, corn on the cob, Jalapeño Cheese. Texas Chicken serves a complete line of Classic Sides, Spicy Products, including various Sandwiches, Wraps, Salads, Crunchy Mix, Tex Special, and Value and Family Meals. I should take into consideration that only one customer was there (which signal a bad sign.....not go). But I try, order the spicy chicken sandwich. It was done quickly and badly, 2 pieces of chicken inside a bread sanwich with cheese, lettuce and mayonnaise. But it was not good, sandwich was not so hot, even the cheese was great. Avoid it that's all.
