We went here with a family friend for lunch who were regular customers of this restaurant. We ordered Manchow soup which was good, the flavour of ginger was refreshing. Fried chicken wantons were disappointing and I would suggest to go for another starter. Hakka noodles, egg fried rice and burnt garlic rice were nice and yum. Schezuan fried rice was spicy but good and I requested it without peas. Honey chilli chicken was spicy with a hint of sweetness. Kung pao chicken had a great taste. Overall both chicken gravy are worth a try. The service was quick and good. The food portions was also good. Location and ambience is nice and pleasant.
Sufficient quantity and good taste. Ample seating area and good service. Its part of the Just Dine chain and so you can get discounts here with Dubai First and some other cards. Check with the staff.
China Valley is one of many Indian Chinese restaurants in Dubai – NOT one of the better ones. Upon being seated we were informed that the restaurant has recently changed hands and is now owned and run by an Italian – I should have gotten up and left there and then – an Indian Chinese restaurant run by an Italian – really? But it was nearing 15:00 and I was quite literally ravenous – my two friends and I all were. And as a result we ended up ordering far more than we usually do for lunch – two starters and four mains. I wrote recently of a Mall-based restaurant that served food which had no business in a Mall – it was that good. Well this restaurant is the opposite – it’s Mall food being served out of a restaurant – and believe me I’m being kind. Or perhaps it’s just that their Chef was having a, oh-I-forgot-how-to-cook day. Read my reviews – I am NOT a whinger nor am I stranger to dining in the real world – this was exceptionally rough. The so called Wontons were the worst I have ever eaten – play dough putty. Well, I’ve been on a bit of a rant haven’t I? Sorry. It’s just that I’m told this restaurant has some history and looking at it’s (unbelievably high) Zomato ratings I must assume it has quite a following – however, sitting on the edge of Dubai’s equivalent of New York’s West 46th Street Restaurant Row – Karama, China Valley has no business serving such mundane food. Perhaps that’s why we were the only ones there…let me throw this in though – service was hugely accommodating; so much so that I feel compelled to disassociate the friendly, obliging staff from the culinary failings of their restaurant.
