I go to Budapest every summer and stopping by this restaurant has become a ritual. Although there are many restaurants in the area, none of them are Hungarian, but rather Italian, Japanese, etc. This restaurant is very family oriented and enjoyable for children as well as adults. It is also a very fun place to be at with a large group of people, or friends. The portions are large and everything is filled with delicious taste. It is a place where food is carefully put together for each person rather than tossed around. In reference to the comment below, I personally had no problems with payments, and the prices are great. The staff is very friendly as well. They only occasionally hold live music night, but I feel like it sets a nice mood for dinner. I overall greatly recommend Tiroli Vendeglo as a place to stop by!

I visited for the first time with my qife and tasted some dishes to habe anbinpression from many aspects. I have to underline that the focus group of this restaurant is the middle-aged generation who prefers huge portions and being served on a honor way. This place fulfills this request. Quality of food is variois, we had positive and negative experience. I recommend the "tiroli" style dishes (soup and main dish as well), those are something what is not necessarly available elsewhere. The others are average. This is obviously not a fine dining restaurant. Compared to food quality prices are acceptable (Eur 20 pro person for soup, main dish and drink).

... with better management and some corrections in appearance and service it would be easily returned to its former glory (as decades ago this place meant a quite "exotic" meeting point to people among those boring local type restaurants). In that case I could easily rank it at least 4 stars... Tiroli serves traditional Hungarian and Austrian (mainly Tirolese) food for an average price. It is good enough for a lunch break during worktime. Its interior is pleasant and friendly. Sometimes, probably on Saturdays there is live music (if you have learnt at a music school do not go there that time O)). However, I have a feeling any time I go there that they mix up traditional and old school style somehow due to negligence. Sometimes the tablecloth is dirty, sometimes you have to wait a lot for a simple thing like a menu, sometimes the potato is not cooked enough. Accepts only cash in the 21st century. Altogether it is an OK place but there are better choices in the area.
