In Budapest generally the food is not so expensive so trying some high end restaurants is a good idea. This restaurant has very good food and a big menu to choose from. Highly recommended. I guess they have 3 restaurants in Budapest.
A nice restaurant but was a bit too crowded for me. Luckily we were in a bit separated part of the restaurant and I think the main hall was so loud and full that it would be a challenge to even hear your partner. We arrived at 1 PM - it is important to book a table as the place is always full and the waiter warned us to order some appetizer as the kitchen is overloaded with the main courses. The soups were a bit ordinary - nothing special except the lamb stew soup what was really nice and tasty. The situation with the main courses was the same - some of them were beautiful the others were average. There is a small playing place for the kids what is good but it is too small and to be honest I have never ever seen any animator so bored as the lady who was there. The staff was nice although they were really busy and overloaded but always smiling and helpful. Overall it was ok - meals, portions, staff, place - but that is not the place I will go regularly.
Do not be deceived by the pictures in the menu that look like small portions! We could have just had starters and been full! This restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel receptionist and a great visit if you want to taste traditional Hungarian food. Lovely food, attentive staff and excellent value- 2 starters, 2 mains, a beer and 2 glasses of wine came to about £35ish. Definitely recommended.
