I was recommended to try this bakery for lunch, but unfortunately we were delayed and didn't arrive until 2pm. The food that was there was very good but when I asked if they could make me something they said no. Apparently the have cut their stock as they don't like throwing it out at the end of the day. I ended up with coffee and cake, not would normally have for lunch. If they had more food they would make more money. I was not the only looking for a little more than cake for lunch.

Finally, we've found a proper bakery in the city! We've searched high and low for somewhere like this as cakes have often looked good but disappointed in Christchurch! The selection of savouries, tarts, biscuits, cakes and breads is fantastic! Yes, the place is very popular but the queue just gives you more time to admire the treats and change your mind constantly! Was plenty of seats available once we'd made our purchase despite being busy. Definitely our new local despite being the other side of the city.
