This was my new local Indian place, however I ordered my meal off menu log for pick up. When i went into the store and the prices are $3-5 cheaper in store than menu log. When I queried this with person serving me, I had very aggressive response. The chef also was aggressive. They provided a number of excuses why the price was increased. They finally said because menu log is more is expensive to use and they on cost to the customer. This not the case with most places. However, I understand and it is a fair and reasonable response. As I'm guessing menu log charge a fee. When I then suggested very calmly, this should be the first response back to a customer, when they ask this question. The service person yelled very loudly and aggressively. There were a number of people in the store. I then left the restaurant and never to return. The food is also not very tasty, lots of better and friendly options in close by areas.
Natraj is a delicious little shop in Bronte. Quaint, cosy, quick and easy. Having just spent a couple of weeks travelling in Northern India, this satisfied all my cravings for those flavour-packed dishes. The guy who works there is very nice and he threw in some extra veggies on my last take away. Dine in is casual and relaxed. Love this place! I order from there at least once a fortnight.
Been a regular here for about 8 years now. Value for money is huge but it's the quality/taste of the food that we keep going back for. Yes very occasionally I've seen the butter chicken a bit watery but 9 times out of 10 it's a winning dish. Order the naan bread the moment u go in and it's made fresh for you. Peshwari naan has never let us down there r. The mushroom curry is always good and we vary the lamb dishes we have based on availability. Meet is good again (9 times out of 10) The owner is genuine, caring and does his best to ensure you are looked after. We've moved now to Bondi junction but still travel back to bronte to get food from here. Found out yesterday that they deliver too - happy days! A little gem in our neighbourhood.
Highly rated by locals but didn't live up to the hype in our opinion. Perhaps our expectations where too high. Yes very friendly owner but sadly the food was disappointing. Naan bread burnt to a crisp, butter chicken tasteless with watery sauce, lamb cutlets burnt. On a positive note, the palak paneer was good and the plain rice great. Sorry but we won't be rushing back.
