Enjoyed a lovely lunch here. Decor is simple and sleek, as you'd expect in a restaurant with this name, very Scandinavian. Really enjoyed the style or ordering, a tick box list with pencils on the table, we had 3 sandwiches each with fries to share and for me this was plenty. They may look small but are deceptively filling. Lovely fresh ingredients. Friendly and efficient staff. Will be back again sometime for sure.
Dined here as part of the Melbourne Food and Wine festival recreating the menu from Academy Award winning movie Babette's Feast. Although it couldn't be exactly the same, what we ate and drank was excellent. My highlight was the Stuffed quayle in beautiful pastry. A beautiful venue, excellent service and great company.
In a city full of ubiquitous burgers, focaccias and dubious sushi it is nice to know there is a place that serves healthy, high quality light meals. I love the smørrebrød at Denmark House. They are everything I want for lunch; flavoursome, low on carbohydrate and visually appealing. These open sandwiches are made with such care, using fist rate ingredients and inventive combinations such as rare roast beef, delicate pickles, remoulade and crispy fried onions or finely shaved scallops on cucumber are sure to lift any jaded lunchtime palate. Monday lunch is great value with a buffet of smørrebrød and light as a feather Danish pastries to choose from. The other wonderful thing about the place is that it is very quiet, very spacious and very Danish. Come here for some peace or a relaxing lunch with friends where you can actually talk. The coffee is excellent too.
