There were only two other tables at this huge restaurant on a Wednesday. We knew it was a bad sign but our hired car has left so we were stuck. We ordered oyster omelette, steamed fish, crabs, pineapple fried rice. All were bad. By the time we ate, we were the only table eating. Somehow they can still manage to bring us cold fried rice. That took some really bad customer service.
Great food and great service definitely recommended. Spring roll and prawn cake appetisers to start followed by crab fried rice with three different beef pork and chicken stir frys. Looked after us very well
Ambience old and old fashioned Chinese restaurant. 3 of us ordered upper end food which turned out to be superbly cooked. The oyster omelette (oh Chian) came first. The oysters were if a decent size and very succulent. The omelette was fried just nice; almost perfect. The Pak Mieng a very leafy dark green vegetable, we were told obtainable only in southern parts of Thailand was also superbly fried again with scrambled eggs. The superior sharksfin soup in individual bowls was so well cooked and value for money at B700 each bowl. Greenies will criticise us for eating sharksfin but they sadly don't know what they miss. The final course was "Beijing Chicken" the chicken version of Peking duck. Skin only. So beautifully sliced no meat or fat left. Served on a "popiah" skin with sweet sauce and pickled cabbage it melted in your mouth. First time I had this dish with popiah skin and will encourage more chefs to try this in future. Overall a very satisfying meal.
We were taken to this restaurant after we turned down a number of seafood establishments recommended by the cab driver. Once we entered, we were somewhat at ease as we saw a number of tables were occupied by patrons whom we recognized coming from the same cruise. When we sat down, we saw other people lining up for coaches chartered by the cruise transporting them back to the cruise. This must be a venue trusted by the cruise ship. We ordered Chinese Broccoli with Beef 芥蘭牛肉 , Fried Seafood Noodle 海鮮炒麵, and Fried soft Crab 炸軟殼蟹. All three dishes turned out to be quite acceptable, by authentic Chinese standards. We would come back to this place should we visit the island again.
