After having eaten Thai food for week my daughter was sick of rice and noodles so when we saw this beautifully lit and atmospheric restaurant we tried to get in but it was full. The very energetic owner suggested we have a drink at the bar across the road and that he would call us when he had a space. We saw a lot of people arriving at the restaurant whilst we were having our drink and , true to his word, he ran to find us when he had a space. The place is very vibey, excellent service, pizzas are good, the beer cold and the prices were fair.
Had a great night here, dropped in as we had seen the restaurant is always busy which is a good sign. Me the owner a lovely gentlemen who took the time to talk to us and tell us his story. We had a great meal my husband had the Arabian Kebabs and the fresh homemade humous and pitta bread, i had Thai food which was great (especially the shrimp cakes yummy!) but definitely had "menu envy" and cheekily ate quite a lot of my husbands meal. Went back a few days later and i had the hungarian red wine goulash, fabulous and this time my husband had a Gyro or kebab as we know them, very good value for money.
The Pinocchio restaurant on Nai Thon Beach in Phuket is a gem. Run by a German the quality of the food is superb. Not the cheapest pizza and pasta by Thai standards, but it must be the best quality pizza outside Italy. Nai Thon is one of the most chilled of the Phuket beaches. Come for a cocktail to watch the sun set first.
