This is a German restaurant which serves both thai and european food. The thai food was great every time, I ate here 1-3 times per week. The staff is very friendly and even served me food off-the menu on my birthday as well as giving me 2 pieces of chocolate from Lübeck.
Ate here last week and was underwhelmed by the experience. Restaurant looks nice and clean, and although our food was good, we felt there were better options in the area, but still ok food wise. What I was not to impressed with was that the manager basically mingled from table to table, German table to table. There were another 2 tables of non Germans beside us, and we all got ignored. I'm not really that fussed with having a full conversation during my meal, but a quick "hi thanks for coming" would have passed, it was a little unwelcoming. Also we waited 45 mins for 2 basic dishes and some of the German customers that came in shortly after us received their mains before us, which didn't help with the uninterested welcome. Food was cheap though so if you can look past the fact that they clearly prefer German patrons then I would be an alright place for a some food.
every thursday there is walkingstreet in maenam, on trafficlights, soi 5 from 5pm till 11 pm. there is one restaurant that serverd BBQ, german braadwurst and more. its delligious. fine serving, good prices. a must to stop there. also other food available.
Moonlight is one of those Restuarants that's very likeable, we have returned there many times!!! It has a very comfortable ambiance with most often a warm welcoming manager and staff. The menu is extensive and one is spoilt for choice! The food is good, but there have been a couple of times where it's been just average....on the whole I would say that if you are in the Chaweng area and don't feel like the hustle of a fast and overcrowded restuarant down the main road.....then without a doubt "Moonlight Samui" is the place of choice. Prices are very fair!!!! Definitely an average to good experience.....
