The facilities were superb. The pools were clean, and the upkeep was great. The hotel was on the sea shore and a good piece of beach! Both the Red Snapper and Chom Talay restaurants were very good both in service and food and the management of the whole place. Some names to mention are Lisa, Orn, and all the staff at breakfast in Chom Talay.( Toy, Hoy and Tan/Jan)
We stayed at Baan Samui, but decided to walk down the road to find a different place to have dinner. Outside Chaweng Garden we saw a sign advertising a beachfront restaurant, so we walked through the resort to the restaurant which is right on the beach. There was a Bar B Que that had several choices ( mainly seafood ) and a separate menu with the usual Thai meals. Two of us had the Bar b Que Fish with salad, we also ordered a Pad Thai and a Massaman Curry. All; meals were very good, tasty and reasonable prices. It cost us 1290 baht including drinks. An enjoyable meal in a great location.
After a lovely meal of traditional Thai food I was bitten by a dog as I was leaving. The dog was sleeping on the sand and in the dim lighting I walked too close. I had accidentally disturbed the dog and it jumped up and bit my thigh. The hotel/restaurant staff were excellent and took me and my dining companions to the hospital. The Manager stayed at the hospital during my treatment, assisted with translation and took us back to our accommodation. I was very impressed with the outstanding customer service both during our meal and afterwards. A special thank you to Ging, Restaurant Manager. Do not be put off by the dogs as they do not bother diners, but you do need to be vigilant when arriving and leaving. The dogs do not appreciate you walking too close or bumping into them.
