I had dinner alone in this place, since I want to have sashimi that night. You better have the buffet if you want sushi or sashimi since a la carte will cost $20-35, while for buffet will cost $40 including tax. Sushi and sashimi was fresh, but I have tried better sashimi than this. The services was fantastic they offered me ice cream for desert and they bring it to me.
Kohaku is a very nice and very good japanese restaurant where you can eat a lot of fresh well prepared and tasty pieces of fish, vegetables, mushrooms and sea scallops. They serve also fantastic soups and nice ice-creams. The staff is very sympathetic, smiling and helpful. The price is the average japanese restaurant price,i.e high but it worths it.
I live in a city where there are more Japanese restaurants than you can "shake a stick at". So I was admittedly hesitant to try this in Myanmar of all places. However my team and I worked late one night and returned to the hotel late. We decided to just stay in and I'm glad we did. The food was fresh, they were very sensitive to my food allergies (shellfish unfortunately) and made a special multi-course meal to make sure I had no issues. It is one of the restaurants in the Chatrium, so the service was excellent as it is in the hotel. Food prices were higher of course given location, but I thought the food was very good, fresh and an extensive menu that my entire team enjoyed.
