Not many restaurants in this part of the town. We decided on this place as we noticed more people eating here as opposed to the other two near by. We ordered mussels which was a big amount for one person and a fish dish (I found the fish too dry). However quantities of food served was enough to feed an army. Prices were reasonable. I would say OK place to eat.

Well located parking near by, this is a real friendly place. The Galettes were generous and nice. The service was a bit long due to big family table. But after all a great lunch and I recomand to walk all the way to the end of the pier.

Le Ble Noir is one of the many restaurants lining the harbour in the Ile de Noirmoutier. It is an excellent place to stop as the menu includes simple dishes such as omelettes and a vast choice of savoury pancakes (galettes) as well as fish, eel and frog legs (the local specialties) and seafood (oysters, mussels tec..) and meat. It is however less formal (this was our feeling) than the neighbouring restaurants we looked at. It was a perfect restaurant for us, with a great choice of dishes, as we had a couple of teenagers with a huge appetite. We, the parents, were able to order much lighter but still generous portions for ourselves! The service was fast and the waitress very welcoming and friendly. The place was full as we arrived (which is always a good sign!) but the staff re-arranged a couple of tables for us on the terrace. The terrace has a roof, so you are protected from the sun (and the occasional rain!) It overlooks the port, but is located on a charming little triangular square where you can enjoy watching the world go by. Pricing was very reasonable. Another good address!

We cycled to This place from our campsite and were pretty hungry by the time we arrived. The waiter sadly forgot our order but was extremely apologetic and made sure we got our food as quickly as he could. It was worth the wait - the skate was excellent and Mrs I&G's fruit de mer were tasty too. Cycled back in the dark but decided it was worth it - good place to eat.
