The De Dutch at 16th & Oak is just fine - nothing particularly wrong with it, but nothing to write home about either. We were a fairly large group and the waitress was friendly and the service was quick (but not rushed). However, the dining room is fairly drab and uninspired and seating is a little squished. The food portions are large but also uninspired. It's also a little pricey: $20 for an omelette, hash browns, toast and a coffee is a little on the steep side, particularly given that the food was average at best. I won't say that you shouldn't try it if you are in the neighbourhood, but certainly don't go out of your way to have breakfast here.
A great menu with some very unique options that make you want to visit the Netherlands! Service is always excellent and it's just a good experience - plus the mandatory good coffee! All locations I visited were equally good.
I brought my dad to the new location on West 2nd on a Sunday morning. After the hostess served us coffee and juice, we waitied for 15-20 minutes just for our server. Since people who seated after us already finished their ordering, and we were hungry, my dad tried to call for the server who just finished taking orders from the table next to us. The waitress just looked at us and said "oh, I'm not your server" and she left@.@.......... I understand it was a busy morning, but she could at least show some hospitality and get our server for us instead! We are not impressed at all for their services!!
