The menu is an eclectic collection of influences from different cultures; there are Asian, European and Mediterranean influences. Dishes were delicious and well presented. They also serve many locally sourced drinks. Service was helpful and friendly.
We came here on a Sunday right when they opened for brunch. We we the only ones in the place for at least 30 mins. But that didn't change my view of the place. Server was very attentive and pleasant. Food was really good. We did the pre fixe brunch which comes with unlimited mimosa's, which were quite delicious! The inside was very nice, with exposed brick and artistic "graffiti." Faces the street so really good people watching. (My wife claims she saw Willem Dafoe walking by, but I'm not convinced.) It was quite a nice place with the food and service to go with it. Would definitely go back.
SetG is a small, nearly on the street restaurant in the West Village, with attentive staff. A nice wine list and an interesting food menu. The edgy graffiti decor and generous street front view add up to a whole, and favorable, experience. Return visits a must. Even for a wine & frites snack. Do it!
I had been to this newish restaurant twice - once for a drink and once for brunch - and decided to return for a light dinner the other night. The 5 to 7:30 pm happy hour is still going on with a selection of wines at $5 a glass. I had a sparkling from Burgundy which was very good and accompanied a duck rillettes small plate. The rilletes came in a small pot with toast points and cornichons. Rich and tasty. I had a nice off and on conversation with the/an owner who was also working the bar. Some movie crews have been in to shoot scenes. It seems the camera likes the restaurant's decor and ambiance. It's a cool spot committed to a certain authenticity and quality.
