you turn in your order at a counter and pick up your beverage and tortilla chips there, then hit the salsa bar, then pick a table. they bring your order to your table. the food I very good, portions are generous, and prices are fair Sabroso has been there for at least 25 years and is a local institution. they serve beer and wine, and traditional Mexican food. I have been there a hundred times for brunch or lunch and it was always consistent, the food always delicious.
Good food in a convivial, casual restaurant. It's always a good sign when your fellow patrons are Mexicans watching futbol on the tele having a great time over generous portions of standard Mexican fare, served fresh and tasty. The rellenos are great. The tacos are juicy ropa vieja. Lots of beer choices and a room in the back for larger groups and futbol parties. Easy on the wallet too!
We've been getting carry-out and delivery mostly from Sabroso's for almost 30 yrs now, and we love their food. Yes, they changed owners a few years back, but we hsven't noticed any degradation in quality or taste. They kept the same cooks, and our favs are still great and a great value for the price. We rarely eat in, for we'd rather eat at home and delivery is quick and carry-out is convenient. We would recommend.
For the past 10 yrs. my family usually met here on Sundays for the tasty $1 tacos. Well they're not tasty any more. Ever since they opened up the Vallerta across the street, this restaurant has changed owners & the way the food taste. Those $1 tacos r not tasty anymore, & honestly not worth a dollar. Recently, my grandmother insisted on celebrating her birthday there, (non of us know why) which was last Saturday. Sure enough, I got sick an hour or 2 later. On the other hand, if u like cold pitchers, of good beer, @ a cheap price this is the place to go. They also had the latest UFC fight going on in the back. Personally, I think this place would do better as a bar.
