Four N Twenty is a good breakfast haunt. While I can't say that it's one of those places that's out-of-the-park great, it's the right place to go if you want a basic, good breakfast. The building and atmosphere is very cool and the food and service are good. The service is quick, attentive, and very friendly. The menu has a wide variety of great choices and they are all prepared very nicely. There's nothing to complain about and every reason to make this a regular haunt. As I said, it isn't one of those "super breakfast" places, but that can be a good thing. It isn't priced like one of those places and you don't have to wait forever to get a table. This is a perfect "go-to" place if you want a good meal to start your day at a nice price. Also, there doesn't seem to be a huge number of good breakfast choices in the area, which makes Four N Twenty and even better bet.

I work nearby Four n Twenty, and therefore I have been going there at least once a week for the past 15 years. In all that time I can honestly say I have NEVER had a bad meal. Even more important to me, the service has ALWAYS been consistently great. Not just good, but great! In fact, when I go to a fancy 4 star restaurant, and the service is indifferent, I can't help but think of 4 n 20, and how they have managed to make every meal I've had there a pleasant dining experience. So, let's break it down. What makes 4 n 20 so good? For one thing, they're fast! You're greeted at the door(front or back entrance) promptly and seated. No muss, no fuss. Drink orders are taken right then and there. The wait staff are all hard working, honest people… NOT actors doing a day job! The food? It's surprisingly good, but don't expect gourmet fare here. After all, the restaurant got it's name from the nursery rhyme: "Four and twenty black birds baked in a pie…" They do have an assortment of great pies which you can buy by the slice or the whole thing. My favorite meal at 4 n 20 is breakfast. They serve it all day long, and it's just perfect! I usually order the same thing every time, and it's always great. One other thing. Don't be put off by the cop cars or motorcycles in the parking lot. This is a favorite of LA's finest and you will often find a few inside enjoying lunch.
