We were very excited to try some Creole / Southern Food, so our expectations were very high. That may be why we were a bit disillusioned when our food arrived. We ate lunch here and the portion sizes (compared to the price of the dishes) were very small. The food overall was good. But nothing I would rave about (like other similar type restaurants we've been to). I would say the best dishes we ordered were the fried chicken and the jambalaya. We also ordered gumbo, po'boy and a hamburger (for the kids). These were fine; but again, nothing out of this world. I think we left a bit underwhelmed due to the prices. We paid about $11 for the fried chicken which came with one leg and thigh and a side. Oh, the iced tea and the lemonade were excellent.
Such great Cajun and southern food. We love their fried chicken. It's not greasy and oh! so very tasty. We've also had their jambalaya which is delicious too. Their sides, especially their black eyed peas and rice, are great. I love their candied yams. Besides having fantastic food, the atmosphere is charming and comfortable. The restaurant is a small store front, nothing fancy, but when we walk in, we're greeted with a smile and a hug. We feel like family and, in this day and age, that counts for a lot. We love coming here for the atmosphere and terrific food.
