We went to this restaurant with a tour group. The layout of the buffet looked tempting but changed the opinion once we tasted the food. The only good item was goat curry which was not even replenished once it got over in the first round. Some items were bland, some salty, even gulab jamuns were not as per the normal standard. We met another group who was about to finish their dinner and their opinion was not good either. From what we saw there were many groups visiting this restaurant but maybe because they are cheaper than others which suit the tour companies to balance their budget.
1. My friend loves Indian food so we decided to have lunch at this area. 2. They have Indian buffet so we tried it out and love it. 3. We loved their chicken dishes and lamb. 4. friendly staff and the waiter who assisted us . Think his name is Jeed. 5. Will come back and will suggest to friends who love Indian food .
In the time when so many restaurants in SF are either closing down or raising their prices, Star India stays strong and as popular as ever, both with its buffet and a-la carte menu. Chicken tikka masala is one of the best in the City, and the house wine pours are generous and well, cheap. When the fog rolls into the Inner Richmond and you are hungry, I recommend the buffet and a good dining companion, as the food is delicious and the service is as discreet and polite as can only be in India. I am lucky to have near this place nearby.
This place would not get me interested with Indian food but it offers sound value and good service. It was during a quiet spell I called but this venue is indeed popular. But i have been to better Indian food restaurants.
