I've been in LA for a week now and this is by far the best restaurant I've been to. The food is incredible! We had the sesame shrimp toast, the baked crayfish rolls and half a portion of ramen per person. All the dishes were so, so tasty. I would happily rush back there again tomorrow. The service was great and the restaurant is small and intimate.

We are great fans of Japanese food and have eaten at Robata Jinya 2 times previously. This time we were a party of 9 people and had reserved a table. This was inside near the sushi bar whereas previously in warmer weather we had sat outside. The pounding rock music was so loud that it was impossible to converse even with the person next to you. A request to lower the volume resulted in minimal improvement. At a second request to the manager, he said that the volume could not be reduced further, which is difficult to believe. That said, the food is still interesting and good but on the expensive side. We have eaten in many Japanese restaurants in the US and on 2 trips to Japan and have always been impressed with the tranquility of the surroundings, even in the simplest places. Robata Jinya take note!
