We have eaten all over London, from the cheap to the Michelin star, and Kisaku is the only food we crave on a regular basis. It's a rather small and usually quiet Japanese restaurant run by a family. There is real attention to detail here, and genuine, humble service that I haven't often found elsewhere. The food, if chosen correctly, is fantastic. Most of the menu is unremarkable, but some dishes beat even the best restaurants in London. If you are eating for two, we recommend sharing the following menu: 1 rice (good sticky rice) 1 beef teriyaki (super delicious!) 1 tofu steak (this is amazing) 2 salmon sashimi (you'll want one each!) 1 chicken gyoza (an easy starter) 2 miso soup (optional) 2 red bean pancakes (if you like) 2 plum wine (if you're drinking) We have also tried the ton katsu, which we didn't rate. The sushi boats are good, but are very big, and you're missing out on some of the better dishes in exchange. Only criticisms are that they have a very poor soft drinks menu, and the bathrooms need some renovation and care. The restaurant is open late and we have been seated up to 10pm. Though we would recommend sitting the latest of 9:30, as we often felt a little guilty when the boys headed home at the end of their shift and we were still finishing our food. It is testament to the service however, that they were willing to stay open late. Never once were we encouraged to hurry. This place is a real gem, and I hope it is around for a long, long time.
Me and my misses working very close to this place. We decided to give a try today. We popped in for a quick lunch. They have excellent lunch menu. Place was nearly full, but we received the order quickly. Food was very very nice. Both of us had ramen.
Visited last week with 3 colleagues, and everything about the meal was wonderful. As we visited midweek, the restaurant wasn't particularly busy. The service was wonderful, and the food was incredible. The sushi in particular was amazing, although some of us also had soups, tempura and gyoza which were also delicious. Our meal cost less than £25 a head for the 4 of us, including alcohol, starters, and the service charge, which I thought was very good value. At the end of our meal the chef was kind enough to give us an extra plate of sushi on the house, which was incredibly kind and incredibly tasty. I thoroughly recommend Kisaku and will definitely be visiting again soon.
