Went here after spotting it while trying a bunch of other restaurants that had long waits on a recent Saturday evening. Funky decor in an old home, very homey. Food was pretty good too! Loved the seafood stew I had, nice glass of wine, other guests very happy too. Nice alternative to the usual
Hand lunch here today with the wife, it was our third trip here. I had the Charlie's Chowder which is delicious, filled with cod, scallops, lobster. Crabby on Land - house crab cake, greens, tomato & bacon on a grilled roll. The sandwich was good, although the crabcake was a little dry. My wife got the Buzzards Bay Reuben with turkey, which she said was very good. The fresh coleslaw is very good. We have gone here for breakfast and to the Sunday Blues Brunch, which was blues music playing in background on cd player. The music was good selection, but volume was so low I could barely here it. The food is always better than average as is the service. We will go here anytime we think of it while down in that area.
We live locally and have wanted to stop by and try Stomping Grounds, but our schedule didn't always match up with when they are open until now. The service was excellent - attentive, kind, pleasant. The decor was fun to take in, but we felt it was almost too small to feel we had our "own" space. The food was good, but the prices were a bit hefty in our opinion. We had chowder, which was very yummy. Our lunches were The Country Club and The Bridge Crosser. They came with chips. The Bridge Crosser is basically a grilled cheese with bacon and avocado for $9.00. The Country Club "alright" according to my dining companion. It was a pretty steep bill for a simple lunch, we probably will go elsewhere for lunch or dinner next time.
