We were here Saturday night, little pricey but it was good. The bartender got nasty a few times, and the Long Island Iced Teas sucked. Everything else was great though, we over all enjoyed ourselves. The club/lounge itself was very pretty.
Beautiful room, but if you are looking for a place to have conversation this is not the place. Our concierge suggested it for a cool lounge to have drinks with friends. We got there at 11:30 pm and it would have been impossible to have a conversation the music was blasting.
My husband and I had tickets to see Bright Light - which is right across the street from 48 Lounge. Neither of us were very hungry after a late lunch, but we were afraid not to eat anything so that we didn't end up starving during the show. So we went to 48 Lounge for some drinks and appetizers. It seems like a very trendy place - some might call it fancy. I had on jeans and a nice top and felt a little under dressed. We were seated right away and the service was good. We ordered a cheese plate and a tuna tartare appetizer - both were excellent. I had their version of a margarita - which was made with blueberry puree and pomegranate juice - and it wasn't what I expected (I hadn't read the ingredients and was just expecting a "regular" margarita), but it was really good. It was a little pricey, but not anything terrible in NYC. For two appetizers and two drinks, with tax and tip, I think we spent about $80. Overall, we had a very nice experience.
Trendy spot that can be delightfully crowded or disappointingly pretentious depending on the crowd. The staff is friendly and courteous and the whole vibe is upscale midtown. Overall it's a great pre dinner post work meet up spot that isn't too loud so you can still have a conversation. It's $$ but that's to be expected in this part of the city.
