Laural Avenue in San Carlos is always a great place to find great food and 888 Ritaurante Italiano fills the bill. We walked in right when the were opening but I think reservations would be good for any other time. A bit pricey for after work casual dining but the food was awefully good and the service was very attentive. Weplan to return with friends. Did I say the place was small? Did I mention the sidewalk tables?

My wife and I ate dinner at 888 Ristorante Italian on a recent Friday night. It is located on a busy street in San Carlos with many restaurants from which to chose. Here, every guest is immediately very warmly welcomed by one of the owners. The place is small and soon became full. The décor is nice, with large windows in the front. My wife ordered the Gnocchi which she enjoyed. The sauce was tasty, but there was far too much given the small amount of gnocchi. I ordered the Rigatoni all Norma which was very flavorful with very sweet, perfectly cooked eggplant. Again the serving was rather small. The prices would be reasonable for larger portions. For dessert we ordered the Spumoni which was just OK, but not the best I have ever had. I would return for another meal.
