From the first contact with Mark, I was greeted with unbridled enthusiasm....1001 questions trying to work out the perfect hamper for us. Upon meeting Mark we were both greeted like long lost friends. Mark met and exceeded the brief. He prepared and supplied the most wonderful 20th anniversary hamper for us. He treated us like royalty. Mark, thank you so much for our hamper....we were absolutely over the moon with it. And your salted caramel Icecream is to die for.
Wow from the minute you walk in you are greeted with service. This is not a cafe but produce from all local suppliers and top quality too. They encourage you to try EVERYTHING and everything was divine. I even found a drink I have not seen for 30yrs - Honey Nectar (of course I had to purchase some). It's a must stop if you are in Sassafras with Nought, jams, sauces, Smoked trout and other meats, Dukah, Kiwi Berries etc. etc.
A must stop if you're ever near Sassafras. Fabulously friendly staff and utterly delicious food. The Rochester ginger drink is blissful! You can try all the food, so stop by and check it out. We were glad we did!
We stopped in Sassafras on our way through the Dandenongs and looked in nearly every shop along the street. Mark at Cream was the clear highlight. Being encouraged to sample the products and having the friendly banter without the pushy sales pitch (or the normally expected blank expression of zero customer service) meant that we walked out with a heap of stuff and spent the whole time talking about the shop (and Mark) on the way back to the car. He's set a high bar for himself, but Mark was also very good at sensing when people just wanted to browse. Try standing outside the shop and watching everybody walk out with a smile on their face
