Formerly Jacky's Stapferstuben and famous for excellent "Siedefleisch" it is now an Italian restaurant but also first class. The restaurant is nice and cosy the food is very good and the waitresses are friendly and efficient. They are a bit greedy - they offer a small portion of grilled sausage as "compliments from the kitchen". These are sooo good. But if you ask for only one more, they charge you SFR 7,50 ( about 7 Dollars) We ordered 2 starters, 2 main courses and a bottle of good (and not cheap) wine - so you could expect a little extra sausage free of charge. But it's worth going there. Prices are a bit high, which is not unusual in Zurich.
While the food was prepared as well as other restaurants in Zurich within the same price range, the service was not. It was obvious that the "in crowd" received especially attentive service. After watching this display of arrogance, the kicker was that the waiter placed the mini dessert blackboard chart directly on the table's edge. We noticed that at all other tables he took the time to explain the items. We arrived at 8 had a few appetizers, but the wait from appetizers to main meal was 1 hour - It was really an obvious snub. The chef passed our table at least 10 times to chat with neighboring clients, but not once did he ask about our food or service or take the time to wish us a Happy New Year.
