This is a very clean, tastefully appointed establishment across from a stop on the Seattle light rail. The man behind the counter is a friendly chap assisted by helpful staff members. I gladly overdosed on 3 cups of spicy Somali chai on a very hot day, at $1.50 each while my wife had falafels with hummus and pita. Then we had a baklava each, just $1.99 each. This place is truly a bargain. The chai - omg! - tastes sweet and frothy. I believe it is made on the premises, which is sad because I would love to replicate the recipe. The counter man also gave us a free sample of lentil soup, wonderful. I should have ordered a full cup in hindsight, but we needed to be somewhere. Probably a 5-star outfit, but I personally give more credence to 4-star reviews.
I just went to Bananas Grill for lunch. I ordered it online for pickup. I got there and it was ready and waiting for me. I love it when places are prompt! I got the Chicken Shawarma lunch special. There was a ton of chicken on it. I am not quite sure how they expected you to eat it as a sandwich as there was way too much on it to easily eat that way. I put it on a plate and used a knife and fork. It was wonderful, I am so happy to work near there so I can go back frequently for lunch.
