What a find! Right in our new "backyard" in the Beacon Hill area of Seattle we we invited by the bright yellow building to come to Willie's House of Soul. With so many traditional Southern offerings it was hard to decide so we expect a few visits well occur in short order. Settling on sliced beef sandwiches with one side and enjoying bottled beers (Miller for Jay and a nice IPA for me) we ate added an ultra creamy side of cole slaw. Sunday may find us back for the buffet. Maybe I will leave room for a tasty Southern desert next time?
Not at all a fancy place - and Willie is chief cook and bottlewasher so be prepared for a leisurely dinner. Portions are big, and you can order some things difficult to find outside the South (okra-yum!; collards-yum!) The BBQs and all are quite good. PIES are especially good :-) It's family friendly but bring some coloring books or whatever for young kids because you may have a wait.
