Back in the 70's I lived for a number of years in Vienna for business reasons. It's my second "heimat". The first year I was there I lived on upper Sieveringerstrasse at the start of the vineyards. I used to have dinner regularly at Eckel. It is an excellent family owned restaurant with a wonderful garden dining area in season. It's well worth a visit as it has great food, wine and service. One word of caution though. It is not a restaurant frequented by tourists - So knowledge of German is beneficial. If you want a first class true Viennese dining experience skip Grinzing and go to Eckel!
Been going here for years. An absolute constant which delivers highest quality Viennese food with no fuss. Pfannkuchen Rothschild are my all time favourite. The restaurant is family run for generations and staff is very polite and impeccably trained. Love it.
