Used to go here years ago when it was a major expat hangout with a loud barkeep, recently revisited. Still a decent place for a pint, although it has lost some of its vibe. Tucked 3 streets away from Chisty Prudiy station.
We went there with my collegues, English guys. I wanted to show some places in Moscow that are similar with English ones. I thought this pub should be like that. But.... the staff don't speak English at all...and this is in ENGLISH Pub! the prices are more than high. The portions are more than little. And promised chicken turned to be turkey, so it was much more fatty than chicken and the person who ordered it hoped to have something not so fatty obviously.... The worst thing happened to my friend, a woman who is English and who is not so young already. I accompanied her to the toilet while one of the young lady pushed her from the back side, although she had plenty of space to go round from the other side. She turned out to be one of the staff! I asked her to apologize at least but she's just gone without any word quickly to the room for staff as she was late to work apparently. So I asked to give me the book of complaints. The manager did. He said that that girl was almost fired for being rude already. But she hasn't been yet! So we were finishing our dinner when that girl dared to come up to us and start to interview us about some alcohol drinks! I asked her to go away because she was extremely rude to us so we didn't want even to see her close to our table. BUT! she started argueing with me that she was right and didn't push anybody! As the result we told her off and had to leave the pub cause didn't want to stay there anymore with such a rediculous attitude to their guests! the manager did nothing! The name of that waiter is Ksenia, unfortunately didn't ask her surname. And I wonder if she still works their... I bet she does... I felt embarrassed and ashamed and that staff of that pub didn't... Although they work in a very expensive pub and actually, ENGLISH PUB with such attitude to their English guests... Sad! And they should learn at least a couple of phrases in English... I would advise Irish Pub HARAT'S on Chehovskaya metro station and Arbat. What a lovely
