Often have fish and chips from the Balerno Fry, they always taste fresh with crispy batter surrounding perfectly cooked fish, best fish and chips in the area. They also do pizza and kebabs which are good too. The staff are very friendly and hard working

I ordered a calzone and it arrived with no cheese or sauce inside and was dry and inedible, my bbq wings were burnt to a crisp and the chips were cold. I called to discuss the problem and a very rude man stated that that is what calzones are like and if I didn't like it I should call his manger tomorrow as they weren't available and tried to end the call. I said that I had ordered the calzone before and that this wasn't good enough and he said he could do nothing and hung up. I called back speaking to a woman this time who said that she would get the manager to call me back. The "manager" if that is who I was speaking to called and stated that I could only receive a refund if they collected the food however by the time this happened my partner had grudgingly eaten his half. I stated that after her collegues rudeness I was not happy with being given a free one next time as I would never order from them again and stated that I wanted a full refund under the circumstances. She said she couldn't do that and I explained that I have consumer rights and have the right to a full refund. Suddenly the rude man was back on the phone shouting at me saying he didn't have time for this, I stated that I am a customer and he should make time, he shouted agressively saying if I didn't like it I should call his manager tomorrow and hung up on me! I tried to phone back a third time to ask the gentleman's name so I could make a formal complaint and they hung up on me again. I am absolutely appalled by the way I was treated and how unprofessional and rude they were. I would not recommend ordering from this takeaway because if you have your order wrong they can not deal with it in a professional manner and insult their customers.
