What can I say I have lived in San Francisco for more than 30 years and whenever I had the urge to take a friend to dinner, or just want to have a good steak, Bobo's was the place to go. The bar is small but is always a place just to eat, have a great glass of wine, and the blood orange sorbet makes your mouth water!
Lombard Street, acrossed Vaness, is home to a dozen or more budget friendly accommodations, and "Bobo's" directly acrossed the street from the Lombard Inn (3 nights with parking averaged $100/night in the Winter) I mention the modest cost at the Inn because I was totally unprepared for an excellent dinning experience in that neighborhood. My wife had the best crab she's had in our many years of eating in SF, and I had the best fish - crunchy outside and mild and yet flavorful on inside. The service was top notch. The price, it wasn't a budge buster, but it wasn't a cheap-date either. Spend a couple of the bucks you saved by staying on Lombard Street and treat yourself to en excellent dinning experience.
