I had read that this was one of the best restaurants in all of New York for dumplings and noodles. A bit difficult to find and the restaurant is best classified as a real hole in the wall. The entry is very unpretentious and the decor and service of and in the restaurant itself is what I would call minimalist. The place was packed with a line out the door shortly after our arrival and many people came in for take out food. I went toward the kitchen and ran into the person hand making noodles. Fascinating to watch and he also took our order, but at the time I was not sure if he heard or understood me. Clearly he did because the lone waitress shortly brought out two very large steaming bowls of broth filled with dumplings and noodles which were excellent. Drinks are cold soda, water etc. and self serve. Prices are very reasonable. Table space is quite limited.
best handpulled noodles I've ever had (and I've had a lot of handpulled noodles. I'm a noodle lover). Don't expect great service because you're not going to get it, but the food is amazing. We got 2 bowls of oxtail noodle soup and an order of the fried dumplings. Everything was amazing. Definitely coming back next time I'm in NY.
My chef friend that lived in NYC recommended this place to me and said he would visit at least once a week. This is a very small restaurant but the food is great! I had the fried dumplings and brisket soup. The dumplings are filled with pork and fried gently. Use the provided chilli and sauce that you can find on your table, these are a must when visiting. The brisket soup with handmade noodles was delicious, although my girlfriends meat was quite fatty, I got must of got the good bits!! The noodles where soft but had a nice crunch and the broth wasn't too salty. If you are visiting China Town in NYC this place is a must. Buy some frozen dumplings to go.... we ate them that night!
