Two stars for the location and the view over Paris through one of Montmartre streets. Everything else sucks... Menu was very touristy, half of our pack took some dishes which were... boring. But what really caught my attention was the fact that waitress seemed very disappointed with me and my colleague ordering only... a bottle of wine! As mentioned half of our pack ordered meal. We were just thirsty so asked for the wine. The waitress first tried to convince us pretending she did misunderstood the order, then looked at us as we would have ordered 0.5€ snack and spend there 3 hours talking... This was really strange and felt unpleasant. I know few better places in this neighborhood so little chances I'll be back.
We dropped in for a lunch at this very well located cafe/restaurant close to the Seine and Notre Dame. We were initially served very quick, with a welcoming waiter. The food was unfortunately not very good, something we told the waiter. From there on, the service level dropped to a freezing minimum, and we veer simply ignored. We had to ask for the check three times. Needless to say - no tips from us. I think there are many better lunch options in the latino quarter.
What a fantastic lunch. 12 Euros per person for a buffet starter, choice of main meal, cheese course and dessert, followed by coffee and including half a litre of wine. We could not fault the service from Baptiste, who does speak English as well. We took two children (3 and 7), and were charged just 7 Euros for them and they got apple juice (instead of wine!). Highly recommended!!
We were tired and hungry and the menu here looked good so we grabbed a seat in the corner. The view here is good with lots of passerbys and the place was a warm respite from the drizzle outside. We had frites, escargot and an open face salmon and tomato sandwich. All that, plus wine added up to 31 Euros; not bad when you consider the location. Good service, good view. good food. Recommend for a nice lunch.
