Don't be put off by the lack of reviews. This is a wonderfully rustic place to enjoy cheese, wine and charcuterie. The home made frites were the best I have ever tasted. Run by a lovely father and daughter. Give it a try. Very central close to Les Halles.
So we were a bit in a rush and didn't feel like looking for a nice brasserie among all those same-looking typical places when we saw this cute little terrace. Traditional and charming fromagerie, with only a few dishes on the menu: that usually means that they do those few dishes pretty darn well. The cheese platter we noticed in a quick glance over a stranger's plate seem really good but we decided to go with a burger and a tartar. Bingo! The tartar was seasoned just right and was accompanied by a bit of salad and crispy potatoes. Yum! The burger...oh heavens that was good! With a generous amount of high-quality cheese. perfectly done meat and the same bit of salad and crispy potatoes, it made my tummy feel happy happy happy! Just as we like it- simple but of high quality! We will be back for another glass of wine and to try some of that cheese! The place itself is very cute and the people running it are as charming! The only downside- there's no water in the bathroom to wash hands so make sure to bring Purell or whatever of that sort! Or just be ready to eat your burger the French style- with a knife and fork! If you're around, pay it a visit! As French as it goes! Yum!
Monsieur Pierre is a small bistro near the Church of Saint Eustache, in the center of Paris, or actually I should say it is a "Fromagerie", where you can buy exquisite French cheese and charcuterie or even sit there and enjoy it with some good wine. The ambiance is cosy and traditional, and the host (Monsieur Pierre himself) is a big smiling man who can explain everything about what he sells and cares to offer genuine, traditional, and high quality products. While having a walk towards le Marais, we were attracted by the marvelous variety of cheese exposed inside on the wooden shelves that we could see through the window. We immediately decided to stop there, since we couldn't resist the temptation, plus I really had a desire of a good bread-and-cheese meal, in true French style. We ordered a selection of French cheese and charcuterie, and we accompanied that with a very good Medoc. The charcuterie was tasty, but the cheese was really Paradise! In fact, we even bought some to bring back to Italy and we ordered a second small selection of cheese in order to try a couple of other sorts. Monsieur Pierre was also a very good host: as I said, he took some time to chat with us and to explain everything (for instance that there are 470 sorts of cheese in France, of which he sells around 80 types)! The price was not low (80 euros for the food I described and 5 glasses of good wine) but I would say honest anyway, considering the high quality of every product. Overall I really recommend this restaurant-fromagerie (and that's the reason why I decided to insert it on Tripadvisor)!
